Addressing the fake news with her characteristic resilience, Jewel said: "I am not dead, everyone. For the past two days, some people have been virtually 'killing' me—claiming I’ve lost my voice, am on my deathbed, and unable to move. They are practically printing the cards for my funeral rituals. But let me clear the air: I am not finished." The actress explained that the rumours stemmed from a speech she gave at a public event, where she had openly discussed her 2023 battle with cancer.
