
CHENNAI: Mohini Mani, mother of Tamil cinema actor Ajith Kumar, passed away on Saturday morning in Chennai. She was 85. Reports indicate that she had been dealing with age-related health issues for some time before her demise.
In a poignant coincidence, her passing occurs nearly three years after the death of Ajith’s father, P. Subramaniam, who also passed away at the age of 85 on March 24, 2023.

As news of her demise spread, prominent political leaders and film industry personalities extended their deep condolences to the grieving family. Among those offering support were veteran actor Kamal Haasan, BJP leader K. Annamalai, and several other public figures.
In a heartfelt statement, actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay expressed his profound grief:

Funeral arrangements
Ajith Kumar, who was in Dubai managing commitments related to his newly formed racing team, 'Ajith Kumar Racing,' is returning to Chennai immediately to be with his family and attend the final rites.
The funeral services are expected to be held at the actor’s residence in Palavakkam, Chennai.
