'Revenge for ruining best friend's life, karma is real'; Social media responds to Hansika's divorce

South Indian film star Hansika Motwani got divorced from her businessman husband, Sohail Kathuria, a few days ago. The Bandra Family Court in Mumbai has disposed of the divorce petition. With this, the two have ended their two-year marriage. After the divorce news broke, many on social media took to criticising Hansika.

The criticism stemmed from the fact that Sohail was formerly Hansika’s best friend’s husband, and many termed the current news as a sweet revenge.

Sohail was first married to Hansika's best friend, Rinki Bajaj. Hansika was present at the wedding. This video is also doing the rounds on social media. But later, Hansika and Sohail fell in love, and they married after Sohail left Rinki. Back then, Hansika came under severe criticism for this decision.

As per rumours, conflicts were often in their relationship, which left them with no other option than to ponder divorce. Although their parents and friends tried to reconcile, it was to no avail. Hansika and Sohail decided to separate amicably.

Their wedding was a lavish ceremony as per Hindu rituals, held at Mundota Fort in Jaipur on December 4, 2022. The couple have been living separately since July 2, 2024. Hansika rose to prominence as a child artist through the serial 'Shaka Lakka Boom Boom' and the film 'Koi Mil Gaya'. Later, Hansika found her way to the South industry and became a leading heroine in Tamil and Telugu films. This year, Hansika acted in Telugu films like '105 Minutes', 'Jaanu' and 'Guardian'. Hansika has also acted in the Malayalam film 'Villain' starring Mohanlal.
