Saniya Iyyappan after making her mark through her dance reality show debuted in Malayalam cinema as a child actor in the film 'Balyakalasakhi' and later as a heroine in the film 'Queen'. Apart from acting, the actor gained prominence in the field of modeling. She was also noted for her role in Mohanlal's Lucifer directed by Prithviraj.

Produced under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, Empuraan is jointly produced by Tamil production house Lyca Productions. The movie is written by Murali Gopi. Cinematography is handled by Sujith Vasudev. The shooting of Empuraan, which is reputed to be the most expensive film in Malayalam, is currently in progress in Thiruvananthapuram.
According to reports, if the initial budget of the film is Rs 150 crore, it will also be exceeded. After shooting in Thiruvananthapuram, Empuraan has been shot in Kochi and Gujarat. Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, Baiju Santosh, Sai Kumar and Beju Santosh are also reprising their roles in Lucifer. Suraj Venjaramood and Shen Tom Chacko are the new characters in the movie. Empuraan is one of the most eagerly awaited films by movie lovers.
