CHENNAI: Actor and TVK chief Vijay in his first public appearance after the Karur tragedy that claimed the lives of 41 people, came down heavily on Chief Minister M K Stalin and the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). The actor responded through a video shared on TVK's X page. He said that he has never faced such a painful situation in his life.

‘My heart is full of pain. I have never been in such a painful situation in my life. The people who lost their lives came out of their love for me. I am indebted to them for that. I ensure the protection of the people in every rally, but what should not have happened has happened. How can I leave when so many were affected. I wanted to go back…but that could have led to more untoward incidents. So, I avoided returning, ‘he said.

May those in the hospital recover quickly. The people know everything. They know the truth. The whole truth will come out soon. The police are arresting many people in this case. Chief Minister Sir, if you have revenge, do anything to me. Don’t touch my leaders. We did nothing wrong. My political journey will continue with renewed vigour,' Vijay said.
