NEW DELHHI: Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that it has severed ties with INDIA Bloc. The AAP is leaving the INDIA Bloc alleging that the real alliance is between the Congress and the BJP. The decision was taken at AAP's political affairs committee. The opposition group was formed only for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, AAP said in a statement.
The AAP's statement came after 16 opposition parties, including the Congress, wrote to Narendra Modi demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss the developments following the Pahalgam terror attack. AAP raised the demand specially.
‘The real alliance is between the BJP and the Congress. Rahul Gandhi says things that benefit Modi politically. In return, Modi saves the Gandhi family from going to jail. Both are not interested in providing facilities like schools, hospitals, electricity and water to the people,' AAP leader Anurag Dhanda tweeted.
‘We must end this background conspiracy to clean up Indian politics. Rahul Gandhi and Modi may appear as rivals on the stage. But the truth is that they support each other for political survival. The weak politics of the Congress is strengthening the BJP. The BJP rule is hiding the corruption of the Congress,’ the party said in a statement.
In an interview with a national media, Anurag Dhanda said the party will contest all state elections alone from now on. He also clarified that they will contest all seats in the Bihar assembly elections later this year. Dhanda said the party MPs will support the opposition's stand based on what is good for the country.
