NEW DELHI: Police have registered an FIR against the Bihar Congress over an AI-generated video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother. The FIR was filed at Delhi’s North Avenue Police Station based on a complaint that the video was derogatory towards women. The complaint was lodged by BJP worker Sanket Gupta.
The video shows an AI-generated character resembling Modi’s late mother appearing in his dream and reprimanding him for using her name in politics. The AI version of Modi then wakes up in shock, concluding the scene. The BJP has accused Congress of insulting both Modi and his mother and has announced plans for nationwide protests. Congress, however, defended the video, saying it was symbolic, depicting a parent advising a child, and denied that it disrespected the Prime Minister’s mother.
The controversy follows Modi’s earlier allegation that derogatory remarks were made against him and his mother during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar.
Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari alleged that the video was made as per Rahul Gandhi’s instructions. Writing on X, he said: 'Under Rahul Gandhi’s instructions, Congress mocked PM Modi’s late mother. It is painful to see a party stoop to this level. Congress is anti-women.'
