Car involved in accident gutted; three friends from Chennai meet tragic end on trip to Munnar

CHENNAI: Three friends met with a tragic end during their road trip to Munnar. The deceased were youths from Chennai.

The accident took place in Vikravandi in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu. The car they were travelling in hit a divider. It then collided with a lorry, overturned and caught fire. Thiruvellikeni native Shamsuddin (25), Kolathur native Rishi and Mohan of Avadi, who were sitting in the back seat, died on the spot. Deepak and Abdul Aziz from the Thiruvallikeni, who were sitting in the front seat, were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. The police have registered a case in the incident.
