THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: India is waiting for the words of Gaganachari Shubhanshu Shukla, who went into space for 1.4 billion people. The space station, which is rushing through the sky like a chariot, is just a dream for those on Earth. There is a lot to hear from Shubhanshu, who stayed there for 18 days.
Shubhanshu is returning after seeing 230 sunsets in space. He has seen the Earth from top to bottom. Axiom Space says that the team has orbited the Earth 230 times. The team has travelled 6 million miles/96.5 million kilometres so far. The distance from Earth to the Moon is four million kilometres. Shubhanshu has travelled the distance to go to and return from the Moon 12 times.
Shubhanshu, who landed in the San Diego Sea near California, is undergoing training to adapt to Earth. He will return to India after completing that.
Shubhanshu had spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ISRO Chairman and later to students in India from the space station. What is to be said is more than what was shared then. The objects brought from space are also intriguing.
Everyone is eager to know many things like how they drank water, slept, walked, did their morning rituals, and their day and night routines. ISRO wants to know what to do next for India's Gaganyaan mission; scientists want to know if seeds will sprout in space and what will happen if they sprout; doctors want to know if bones will go weak if they go there; and IT experts want to know what will happen to computers.
Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian to go into space in 1984.
