MUMBAI: A case has been filed against producer, host and actor Ajaz Khan for allegedly presenting obscene content on a reality show. The show, 'House Arrest', which is aired on the OTT platform Ullu App, is now caught in a big controversy. Ajaz Khan's request to the contestants to imitate various sex positions from the Kamasutra during the show caused widespread protests. With this, a Bajrang Dal activist filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against the host.
The police have registered a case against Ajaz Khan and the producer of the reality show, Raj Kumar Pandey. They have been charged with indecent exposure of women and uncouth behaviour in public.
Following the controversy, the National Commission for Women summoned Ajaz Khan and Vidya Agarwal, CEO of the streaming platform 'Ullu' that aired the show. They have been asked to appear before the commission by May 9. Episodes of the reality show, which began airing on the 11th of last month, have been removed from the adult streaming platform Ullu following the video controversy.
National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar termed the viral video ‘disturbing’. She said the show insulted femininity and promoted sexual assault.
