India delivered devastating blow to Pakistan's air defences: Key airbases destroyed

NEW DELHI: India struck at the heart of Pakistan’s defence by destroying seven of its most critical airbases and air defence radars located in Pasrur, Chunian, and Arifwala. It also thwarted Pakistani fighter jets’ attempts to breach Indian airspace. Air Marshal A.K. Bharati stated that the Indian forces struck Pakistan at its most sensitive points.

Pakistani airbases destroyed by India:

Rahim Yar Khan Airbase
Located in southern Punjab, this airbase is crucial for Pakistan’s air force operations in the southern and eastern regions.

Chaklala Airbase (Nur Khan)
A major Pakistan Air Force base in Rawalpindi. It played a central role in the Second World War and in Indo-Pak wars, with key military air operations conducted from here.

Sukkur Airbase
An airbase in Sindh province used for operations in the Sindh and Balochistan regions.

Bholari Airbase
Near the town of Bholari in Sindh province, this is one of Pakistan’s modern airbases, inaugurated in 2017.

Jacobabad Airbase
Functions both as an airbase and a civilian airport. Located in Sindh province, it is under the control of Pakistan’s Southern Command.

Sargodha Airbase
A major airbase in Punjab province. In 2003, it was renamed Mushaf Airbase in memory of former Air Force Chief Air Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir, who died in a plane crash.

Rafiqui Airbase
Strategically used for military operations in Pakistan’s eastern and western regions. It is located in Shorkot, Punjab province.

Murid Airbase
Situated in Chakwal district of Punjab province, under the control of the Northern Air Command. Established by the British in 1942, it remains one of Pakistan’s strategically significant airbases.
