
KASARGOD: A large quantity of methamphetamine was seized during a special raid conducted by the Excise Enforcement and Anti-Narcotics Special Squad at Kallingal in Pallikkara. The operation was led by Kasaragod Assistant Excise Commissioner P.P. Janardanan, and three people were arrested. During the raid, officials seized 4.813 grams of methamphetamine, 618 grams of meth-mixed liquid, drug-use equipment, and an Innova car with registration number MH 02 ER 4208.
The arrested individuals are Abbas Arafath (26) from Chattanchal, Muhammad Ameen (21) from Muttathody, and Faisal (38) from Pallikkara. Excise officials also found that the accused had been using drugs inside the drawing office owned by Faisal in Pallikkara. The suspects were overpowered and taken into custody around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
A case has been registered against them under sections 22(c), 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act. Grade Assistant Excise Inspector C.K.V. Suresh, Civil Excise Officers Rajesh, Shijith, Shailesh Kumar, and Sonu Sebastian, along with a team led by Preventive Officer Dineshan Kundathu from the Excise Circle Office, and another team led by Hosdurg Excise Circle Inspector Prasannakumar, were part of the operation.
