BENGALURU: Before the country recovers from the shock of the Ahmedabad plane crash, another worrying news is coming out. An IndiGo Airlines flight flying from Guwahati to Chennai was unable to land at the Chennai airport. According to national media reports, the pilot made a Mayday call as the fuel in the plane was running low.

The concern was finally dispelled when the plane landed safely at the Bengaluru airport with 168 passengers on board. The IndiGo flight had a technical snag on Thursday. IndiGo's flight 6E-6764 attempted to land in Chennai at 7:45 pm on Thursday, but it was not possible due to heavy air traffic in Chennai. It then flew back to Bengaluru.

The plane landed safely at Kempegowda International Airport at 8:20 pm. Medical and fire service personnel were on standby during the landing, and maximum safety precautions were taken, national media reported, citing airport authorities. Following the incident, both pilots have been taken off duty following an internal investigation. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
