NEET UG exam held on May 3 cancelled after paper leak

NEW DELHI: The NEET UG exam held on May 3 has been cancelled after allegations of paper leak were raised. A decision has been taken to conduct the exam again. The dates will be announced later.

The allegation was that 135 questions in the model question paper that was circulated just before the exam were included in the actual exam. The investigation team found that 600 questions in the question paper that was circulated among the students at the exam training center in Sikar were similar to the actual question paper. The question paper was circulated in Sikar two days before the NEET exam. It was sold for Rs 20,000 to Rs 2 lakh. It is reported that about 30,000 question papers were sold before the exam.

The Rajasthan Police has taken 13 people into custody in connection with the question paper leak. The owner of the coaching center in Sikar, the owner of the paying guest building and two students were taken into custody. The police have also extended the investigation to Kerala in the incident. The investigation is focused on a student from Churu, Rajasthan, who is studying for MBBS in Kerala.
