Nine-year-old reels queen commits suicide after parents scold her

CHENNAI: A nine-year-old girl committed suicide after her parents scolded her and asked her to study. The incident happened at Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu. The girl was popular for making reels on social media. Her father Krishnamoorthy found her hanging in the house.

When the Class IV student Pratiksha was playing with her friends near her grandma’s house on Monday, her father gave her the keys and asked her to go home and study. Her parents then went to buy some things for the house. When they returned at 8.15 pm found the house locked from inside. They knocked on the door, but there was no response. He then broke open the door and found her hanging from a window grill. She was rushed to the hospital, but her life could not be saved.

The police have started an investigation. She was very active on social media. She had created nearly 70 reels and the people started calling her ‘reels queen’ from then on.
