Nitish and 35 ministers in Bihar: Deputy Chief Minister's post for BJP and LJP

NEW DELHI: JDU leader Nitish Kumar will continue as the Chief Minister of Bihar. The oath-taking will take place on Wednesday or Thursday. The BJP and Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) are likely to get the post of Deputy Chief Minister. This will be Nitish's 10th stint as Chief Minister.

BJP is likely to get 16 ministerial berths while JDU will get 14. LJP will get three; Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha parties will have one minister each. A rough agreement was reached in the discussions held by Nitish and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Modi will attend the oath-taking ceremony

The swearing-in date will be finalised, keeping in mind the convenience of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The venue will be Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Nitish Kumar will submit his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan after the last cabinet of the 17th assembly meets on Monday. Following this, he will stake a claim to form the new government. The NDA won 202 seats out of 243 assembly constituencies.
