CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday said that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will protect the rights, language, and identity of Tamil Nadu and will never let the state bow its head down. He was speaking at the event 'Mupperum Vizha' held in connection with the DMK's founding day and the birth anniversaries of Periyar and Annadurai.
Stalin also came down heavily on the central government and the BJP. Stalin also explained the state government's major projects and achievements by claiming that Tamil Nadu is the only state that has achieved a double-digit economic growth.
Stalin, who took a strong stance against the BJP in his speech, also criticised the central government for interfering too much in the matters of the state. He spoke about issues ranging from the imposition of Hindi to the withholding of education funds. Stalin accused the Centre of imposing cultural and administrative control over Tamil Nadu. He also said that measures such as delimitation and other interventions threaten the powers of the states.
“If the BJP is not stopped now, they will create a country without states. The BJP has no entry into Tamil Nadu. Even after coming to power for the third time, Modi’s magic will not work in Tamil Nadu,” Stalin said.
