‘Killed Bindu Padmanabhan, chopped body into pieces, burnt bones’; Statement of Sebastian in murder case out

ALAPPUZHA: Sebastian, the accused in the missing case of Bindu Padmanabhan, of Kadakkarappally, has confessed to the crime. The murder was committed in May 2006. Bindu Padmanabhan was killed, body chopped into pieces and buried in various parts of the house in Pallipuram. After confirming that the body was decomposed, burned the bones and then the remains were buried in various places. The statement said the murder was committed to extort her money.


This information was obtained after Alappuzha Crime Branch took him into custody and grilled him. Based on this, Sebastian was brought here for collecting evidence. Based on the statement that the remains of the body were dumped in Thanneermukkam, evidence will be collected here. Sebastian was earlier arrested for selling Bindu's land after forging documents.


Bindu went missing in 2006. Her brother Praveen Kumar filed a missing complaint with the home department on September 17, 2017. The complaint reached the Kuthiyathode CI office on October 9, 2017 through the district police chief. However, the first information report was released on December 19, 70 days later. The crime branch had found that Bindu was murdered in 2006. The investigation team also found that Bindu had a close relationship with Sebastian.


An audio of real estate agent Sebastian and his friend murdering her had emerged. The audio was that of broker Soda Ponnappan revealing the details of the murder to his neighbor, Sasikala of Kadakkarappally.
