KOCHI: “Everything is part of the quotation. We will shoot the nude visuals. They will speak about the rest of the deal…” This is what Pulsar Suni allegedly told the actress on February 17, 2017, inside the moving car where she was assaulted. With actor Dileep now acquitted, the question resurfaces: whose “quotation” were Suni and the other accused executing?
The prosecution had argued that Dileep conspired with Pulsar Suni out of revenge because the survivor had informed Manju Warrier about his relationship with Kavya Madhavan. However, the trial court ruled that the conspiracy charge against Dileep could not be proved.
After the verdict, Dileep openly stated that the allegations of criminal conspiracy began only after his ex-wife Manju Warrier mentioned it, raising a more pointed question: who was the criminal mind behind Pulsar Suni?
The investigation has still not recovered the phone used to record the assault- evidence considered crucial in the case. Suni had bought a new phone for the operation. The visuals were copied onto a memory card in Alappuzha, where the accused had travelled after the incident.
1. Was it only Pulsar Suni’s plan?
The original chargesheet said Suni and his four associates carried out the assault to blackmail the actress and extort money. But the case took a new turn when Suni allegedly sent a letter from jail, through a fellow inmate, addressed to Dileep. If the crime was only Suni’s operation, why was that letter written?
2. Who is the mysterious “Madam”?
Suni had told police that he handed over the visuals to a “madam” before his arrest. But her identity remains unknown. Based on testimony that Suni visited Kavya Madhavan’s business establishment ‘Lakshya’ after the incident, police raided the office. This sparked speculation that the “madam” could be Kavya, but no evidence was found.
3. Was the aim to stop the actress’s marriage?
The assault happened soon after the actress’s engagement. Suni stated that the person who gave the quotation instructed him to ensure the video captured her engagement ring. This led to early suspicion that the crime was meant to sabotage her marriage. If so, the question remains: who wanted to stop the wedding?
