Attempt to kill 18-year-old girl by dousing petrol; neighbor arrested

ALAPPUZHA: One has been arrested for trying to set an 18-year-old girl on fire. The incident happened on Tuesday night in Alappuzha. The girl ran as soon as he poured petrol on her body, averting a major accident. Her neighbor identified as Jose (58) has been arrested.

A fight broke out between the neighbors last night and in the melee, Jose poured petrol on the girl's body. As he was about to set her on fire, the girl pushed him and ran away. The police immediately reached the spot and took the accused into custody.
