Autorickshaw thieves caught in Ernakulam; police shocked by the reason

KOCHI: Two culprits who stole an autorickshaw from a theatre premise in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam were caught. Faizal and Prashanth who were caught are Chelamattom natives. They stole the autorickshaw that belonged to Ummar who is a native of Thandekkad.
The culprits escaping with the autorickshaw which was parked in front of the theatre were caught in a CCTV camera in a shop nearby. On further investigation, the thieves were caught and the autorickshaw was recovered. The thieves confessed that they stole the autorickshaw for the convenience of travel for their upcoming thefts.
Vehicle theft in Perumbavoor area has been increasing in the past month. Police are investigating their involvement with these thefts. Faizal has been booked for 15 cases before which include ganja sales and thefts. He spent 2 years in prison.
