Death of two-month-old baby in Kannur suspected to be a case of murder; police grilling woman

KANNUR: The death of a baby in Kurumathur after falling into a well is suspected to be a case of murder. The dead is Amish Alan near Kurumathur Diary Juma Masjid. The baby was only two-months old. It is hinted that the baby’s mother Mubasheera of Moolakkal Puthiyapuraryil committed the crime.

Reports say that she told police that she murdered the baby by throwing him into the well. The woman is being grilled by a team led by Taliparamba DySP. Her arrest is likely to be registered later today. The incident happened Monday morning at around 10 am. The woman first said the baby slipped from her arms accidently while bathing him in the bathroom.

Social activists Naj Abdu Rahman, Shamsad and Nazar who reached there after hearing the commotion took the baby from the well and rushed him to Taliparamba Cooperative Hospital and later to Kannur Medical College Hospital, but his life could not be saved.
