Dispute over business conducted during Onam: Flower shop owner Saithali hacks his employee

PALAKKAD: A person was hacked in Ottapalam following a dispute over wages. The victim was Mohammed Febin, a native of Pallarmangalam, Palappuram. The accused, Saithali (48), reached the police station with the knife and surrendered. The incident took place at around 9 pm last night at a flower shop at Mayannur Bridge junction in Ottapalam.

Muhammed Febin was an employee of the flower shop owned by Saithali, a native of Pathirippala. The two had a dispute over the wages for the business conducted during Onam. Saithali then hacked Febin with a knife in the shop.

Febin, who suffered serious injuries to his neck, head and chest, was immediately admitted to Thrissur Medical College Hospital. Initial reports indicate that Febin's condition is not critical at present.
The police have registered a case under sections including attempt to murder. A team led by Ottapalam Inspector A Ajeesh has started an investigation into the incident. Forensic experts also reached the spot and collected evidence.
