THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details have come out regarding the incident where a woman was stabbed to death by her husband at Vlathankara in Neyyattinkara. The accused has been identified as Vishnunath (33), who allegedly stabbed his wife Alma (33) to death. The couple lived near RC Church in Vlathankara.

Vishnunath told the police that he committed the crime because they did not have children even after several years of marriage. He said that there had been frequent arguments between them over this issue. A similar argument broke out again on Sunday, when no one else was at home. Following the argument, he stabbed Alma in the neck.

After the attack, Vishnunath went to his brother’s house, who is a lawyer, and informed him about the incident. The brother then alerted the police. Acting on this information, police reached the house and found Alma lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom.

Parassala Police have taken Vishnunath into custody, and he will be produced in court tomorrow. Alma’s body has been shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for postmortem. Vishnunath works as a teacher at a PSC coaching centre. The couple had a love marriage nine years ago. Neighbours said they had not heard of any major fights or disturbances from the house before this incident.
