PALAKKAD: CCTV visuals of an attempt to set a petrol pump on fire have emerged from Vaniamkulam. The incident took place at a petrol pump in the area after a dispute between a three-member group and the pump staff.

According to reports, the group argued that it was the responsibility of the employees to provide a bottle to carry petrol. Following the argument, the group allegedly poured petrol on the ground and tried to set it on fire.

The group had arrived at the petrol pump in an autorickshaw to buy petrol and demanded that it be given in a bottle. However, the staff did not have a bottle. They searched nearby for one but could not find any. The group then bought petrol in a can that was already in the autorickshaw. After this, the group created a commotion, insisting that providing a bottle was the duty of the employees, and verbally abused the staff.

During the argument, they poured petrol from the can onto the ground and attempted to light it. The petrol pump authorities have filed a complaint with the police. Police have begun an investigation and are examining the CCTV footage to identify the accused.
