Inflicted burn injuries on 11-year-old son using heated rod as punishment for playing with friends; father arrested

KOLLAM: In a shocking incident, a father inflicted burn injuries on his 11-year-old son using a heated iron rod as punishment for playing with friends. The incident took place in Pathanapuram in Kollam. The accused, identified as Karamoodu native Vinsukumar, has been arrested by the police for the cruel act.

According to the police, Vinsukumar inflicted serious burn injuries on the child's thighs and lower legs using a hot metal rod in a fit of anger over the boy playing with his friends. Police have recorded statements from both the boy and his mother. The child was admitted to a hospital in Pathanapuram for treatment.
