The child's mother, Kalasurya, had married a Tamil Nadu native, Kannan. This is her third marriage. The child from her second marriage was killed. It was found that the child's body was buried with the help of Kalasurya. Police went to Madurai with Kalasurya and conducted an investigation. The murder took place a month ago at the poultry farm where Kannan worked. Kannan was arrested with the help of the Tamil Nadu Chekkanurani police.
