Man sets neighbours ablaze after pouring petrol over them, one dead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man, who was undergoing treatment for burns after being attacked by his neighbours, succumbed to his injuries. The incident happened in Panapamkunnu in Kilimanoor. Sasi, an ex-serviceman, set fire to a neighbouring couple after dousing them with petrol. Prabhakara Kurup (60), a native of Pallikkal, who was injured in this attack, died at Parippalli Medical College while undergoing treatment. His wife Vimalakumari (55) is in serious condition.

Prabhakara Kurup had a dispute with Sasi regarding a financial deal. The police indicate that the attack took place in between this. Prabhakara Kurup was running a hollow bricks manufacturing unit. According to local residents, Sasi, who came to their house with petrol, poured it over Prabhakara Kurup and Vimalakumari and set them on fire.
