Necklace of old woman who died in an accident stolen; accused arrested

TRIPRAYAR: Locals caught the culprit who stole a three sovereign necklace of Parukutty and handed him over to the police. Parukutty had died in an accident between a car and a KSRTC bus and the thief stole from the dead. Auto driver Babu (40), a native of Kanjani Ambalakkad, was arrested. Babu, who was passing by on a scooter at the time of the accident, joined the rescue operation. He took the necklace which fell inside the car and hid it on his waist, which was noticed by the other rescuers who blocked him. Although Babu said that he did not steal, the necklace was found hidden in a blood-stained piece of paper on his waist during the inspection conducted by Valapad police.
