Police register case against youth for killing cat and posting video on Instagram after severing its head from body

PALAKKAD: The police have registered a case against a youth for killing a cat and posting a story on Instagram. A case has been registered against Shajeer of Cherpulassery in Palakkad. The case has been registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Shajeer had recently killed a cat and circulated its pictures and videos. The story was posted on a page called Shajeer_Tool.

The footage shows him feeding the cat before slitting its throat and separating its head and other body parts. Shajeer is a lorry driver. One of the visuals show him feeding the cat from the lorry's cabin. The people who saw this brutality informed the police. He is presently in Tamil Nadu. It is not clear from where the video was filmed.
