Reached Lakkidi early morning; Sharukh and Shabeena panicked seeing excise, MDMA seized

WAYANAD: Two have been arrested for trying to smuggle MDMA in a car. Shahrukh Shahil (28) of Shahal house at Areekode in Kozhikode and Shabeena Shamsudeen of Kattiparambil house at Kuruvillassery in Chalakudy, Thrissur were arrested. The two were arrested during a vehicle inspection conducted in Lakkidi Sunday morning. 4.41 grams of MDMA was recovered from the car.


While checking vehicles, a car with a youth and a woman reached the Kalpetta area. While seeking details, both looked tensed. With this, a detailed search was conducted inside the car, including by female officers, and MDMA was recovered. Their car has also been taken into custody.


Excise Inspector G Jishnu, preventive officers P Krishnankutty, K M Abdul Latheef, A S Aneesh, P R Vinod, civil excise officers T Muhammed Mustafa, Sadiq Abdullah, V K Vysakh, M V Prajeesh, Eby Ana, Sadiq Abdullah and female excise officer K V Surya were also present in the team.
