THRISSUR: Notorious criminal ripper Jayanandan has been released on parole for the first time after 17 years in prison. He got parole to attend the wedding of his daughter, an advocate in the high court. The ripper lodged in Viyyur Jail in Thrissur in high security prison was released Tuesday morning at 9 am.
The high court granted him two-days escort parole to attend his daughter’s wedding. Jayanandan, released this morning will return to the jail at 5 pm this evening. He will attend the wedding tomorrow at Vadakkumnathan Temple, with the escort of the police.
Jayanandan is an accused in 24 cases including double murders in Mala, Perinjanam and Puthenvelikkara murder cases. His style was to hit women on their heads and steal ornaments. He has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life. He was not granted parole as he was a very dangerous man. The court granted him parole with police escort after considering the plea of his advocate daughter.
