Sexual assault towards girl in KSRTC bus; co-passengers failed to intervene

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A video of a fellow passenger sexually assaulting a girl in a KSRTC bus has surfaced. The incident happened in a bus of Vellarada depot. The assault was when the bus reached Kattakada. The passenger sitting nearby had a bag on his lap and can be seen touching the girl's body.

The girl who recorded the video removed his hand away and then beat him. The girl asked him is this the way to behave in a bus. The girl demanded that he be dropped from the bus or take the bus to the police station. However, the other passengers in the bus failed to respond. The conductor then stopped the bus and dropped the person who misbehaved with her.

KSRTC officials said the incident was not reported to the police because the girl had no complaint. The Kattakada police have not yet received any complaint so far. The incident happened on the bus running on Thiruvananthapuram-Vellarada route. Both had taken tickets for Kattakada.
