Teacher held for sexually assaulting 20 students; Malappuram native Faisal is the accused

KANNUR: A school teacher who sexually assaulted about 20 students have been arrested. Faisal (52), a native of Kondotty, Malappuram is the accused. He was arrested by Thaliparambu police on the complaint of the students that the teacher misbehaved while teaching.

The students reported the harassment to the school counselor. Then the counselor and the school authorities reported this to the Childline. It is reported that about 20 students were raped but only five students filed a complaint.

The teacher was arrested yesterday. Faisal was a teacher of UP section for the last four years in a higher secondary school within Thaliparambu police station limits. The accused was remanded for fourteen days. School officials said further counseling would be provided to the students.
