Two arrested with ganja in Thenmala

THENMALA: Two people were arrested with 25.352 kilograms of ganja brought from Andhra Pradesh during a vehicle inspection jointly by Kollam rural special team and Thenmala Police following secret information received by Kollam rural district police chief Sunil M L as part of anti-drug campaign titled ‘Yodhavu’. Sunil G alias Bellary Sunil, 47, son of Ganesha of Keralapuram and Nishad (35), son of Nazir, were the two arrested.

After receiving secret information that the accused were smuggling ganja from Andhra to the state for wholesale, the vehicle was checked and the item was seized from the Hyundai I20 car with registration KL 02 BS 1491 in which they were travelling. The police had arrested Bellary Sunil earlier also in Aryankavu with ganja. He is accused in ganja, attempted murder and conspiracy cases in Thenmala and Kundara police station limits and five ganja cases registered by Kollam Excise.
