Woman stabbed by male friend when returning home after work

KASARGOD: A woman stabbed by her male friend has been admitted in the hospital. Rekha (27) of Adhur Kurathimoola has been admitted to Kasaragod General Hospital. Police said the accused is Prathap of Kanyana, Mandakkol in Karnataka. Prathap is friend of Rekha's husband. Rekha is an employee of a lottery stall in Adhur.

Rekha has filed a divorce case from her husband of Mandakkol. The woman had filed a complaint at the Adhur police station and the women's cell, alleging that Prathap was constantly harassing her. During the settlement talks held at the station, the accused assured that he would not annoy her again. However, he stabbed her on her neck with a dagger. He was waiting for her on the road and then committed the act while she was on her way home after work. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
