Youth brutally assaulted in front of wife for demanding salary dues 

KOLLAM: A complaint has been lodged for brutally assaulting a youth in front of his wife for demanding the salary dues. The incident happened at Kottarakkara in Kollam the other day. The victim is Vijaya Kumar of Vettikavala. He is undergoing treatment at the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital.

Vijaya Kumar was working in the house of contractor Thankappan Pillai of Muttavila. Kumar was not able to go for work for two days as his daughter was ill. A dispute broke out when he along with his wife came to the contractor’s house to get the salary dues for the work done earlier. The complaint lodged said that in a fit of rage, Pillai beat him brutally. The locals who came hearing his screams, saved him from the hands of Pillai. They later took him to the hospital. A case has been registered by the Kottarakkara police on his complaint and an investigation has started.
