THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Unnikrishnan Potty, a businessman in Bengaluru, said that it is his responsibility to prove the allegations leveled against him in connection with the Sabarimala Dwarpalaka idols. The devaswom vigilance has levelled serious findings against Unnikrishnan Potty in the controversy related to the gold-plated sheets in Sabarimala. Unnikrishnan Potty, who was in Bengaluru, reached home in Thiruvananthapuram at around 11 am today. He did not respond properly to the media.
'It is my responsibility to prove the allegations leveled against me. I have not done anything wrong. I will convince everything in the court. I have my own identity. Destroyed me to the maximum. The case is under the consideration of the high court. Documents will be produced as per the request of the high court. Let the court decide whether my side is right or wrong. Let the investigation go on,' said Unnikrishnan Potty.
The devaswom vigilance has asked Unnikrishnan Potty to appear on Saturday for detailed interrogation. Unnikrishnan Potty has not clarified whether he got the notice from the vigilance. Meantime, Devaswom President P S Prashanth has also stepped forward against Unnikrishnan Potty. He also said that he will demand a comprehensive investigation in the court over it.
‘The devaswom board has no idea who Unnikrishnan Potty is. I am happy that he himself initiated the discussions. He tried to make the Devaswom Board a party to the controversy. However, he himself fell into that pit. There was a lapse on the part of the officials in 2019. The gold-plated sheets should not have been given to Unnikrishnan Potty,' clarified Prashanth.
