‘Rahul is not part of UDF, CPM on the defensive; CM will be made to reply in assembly’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The assembly session that will begin tomorrow is the trial that the UDF is going to conduct in the court of the people's conscience, said opposition leader V D Satheesan. He also said that the UDF is going to face the assembly session fully prepared. Satheesan added that they will make Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan answer on many issues.

Kerala was shocked when the custodial torture in Kunnamkulam came to light. Then came the story of many custodial tortures. When Pinarayi Vijayan is in charge of the home department, the Kerala Police is taking steps that are embarrassing the people. The ostrich has its head concealed in the ground. The chief minister has not responded to this issue so far. We will make the chief minister give a reply to all these.

An allegation against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA came before us. No official complaint was filed against him then. We decided and made him resign the post of youth congress President. He was suspended from the party and the parliamentary party. Rahul is not part of our parliamentary party. However, what did the CPM do? Accused in rape cases are still MLAs and ministers? We are the ones who took a proud stand to protect women. The CPM is on the defensive.

I am concerned on the issue related to Rahul. When I brought the youth leaders to the party, I did not get anyone's support. Rahul is not part of us in the assembly. The action against Rahul was taken by the leadership. Congress is not involved in the cyber-attack against the actress.
