THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The details of the FIR registered against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil are out. Allegations including stalking and harassment of women on social media and forced for abortions are mentioned in the FIR. The case was registered on the complaint of five people.

The five complainants are third parties in the case. They are not directly involved in the case. The charges include harassing on social media, forcing them to have abortions, and threatening them over the phone. The FIR says that the case was registered on the basis of a complaint received by the DGP.

A special team of the Crime Branch DySP has been assigned for the investigation. The investigation team has started recording the statements of the complainants. The investigation team will verify the authenticity of the audio recordings that have emerged. The owners of these voices will later be found and their statements will be recorded. It is assessed that the investigation team can move forward only if they file a complaint directly.

Meantime, protests are underway in Palakkad demanding the resignation of Rahul facing sexual allegations. However, the Congress is repeating that the party will provide security to Rahul when he reaches the constituency.
