THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Saji Cherian said the government is with the survivor then and now. He was talking to the media soon after the verdict was delivered in the actor assault case. The minister said that as he is busy with the local body polls didn’t hear much about the verdict and after knowing everything will take further steps.
‘From the beginning, the government and the LDF is with the survivor. Will reply after examining court’s findings. The court has now found six guilty in the case. I can reply only after understanding more on it. Will consult legal experts to move higher court,’ the minister said.
CPM state secretary M V Govindan said the government had always taken a favorable stand with the survivor. Govindan said Dileep's explanation that there was a conspiracy against him is irrelevant. He clarified that the next step in the case will be taken. The survivor is not satisfied with the verdict and that action will be taken in the case until she is satisfied, said Govindan.
Meantime, B Sandhya, who was the head of the investigation team, said that this is not the final verdict in the actress attack case and that we will see what happens in the higher court. Conspiracy is always a challenge, she said.
'The investigation team had done a great job. They deserve an appreciation. The successive prosecutors had also done a good job. There have been many positive changes in the film industry in Kerala through this case. The investigation team is with the survivor until the final verdict is delivered. Many challenges have been faced during the trial. The investigation team and the prosecution will fight for justice in the higher court,' added B Sandhya.
