KOCHI: Actor Siddique has received a notice in the sexual assault case, asking him to appear before the investigation team on Monday. Siddique had earlier issued a letter expressing his willingness to appear before the investigation team in the case. The actor has been summoned for questioning based on this. The investigation team will record the actor's statement on Monday.

Earlier, the police had not decided to issue a notice to Siddique as the actor's anticipatory bail application was pending before the Supreme Court. It was in this context that Siddique himself informed the police that he was ready to appear for questioning. The investigation team views this as a strategic move by the actor. Siddique was booked in the rape case based on the complaint lodged by a young actress.

The complainant, an actress in the industry, alleged that Siddique molested her inside a hotel room in Thiruvananthapuram. Summoned on the pretext of discussing a movie project, the actor was alleged to have sexually molested the complainant. Police registered a case in this regard.

Siddique himself has admitted that he had seen the complainant in Thiruvananthapuram. The Supreme Court had stayed the actor's arrest for two weeks in the case. After the High Court rejected anticipatory bail, Siddique, who was absconding, moved Supreme Court for respite.
