'Big conspiracy busted'; Court acquits six accused including K Surendran in Manjeswaram bribery case

KASARAGOD: Kasaragod district session court acquitted BJP state president K Surendran and six others in the Manjeshwaram election bribery case. The court accepted the discharge plea of ​​all six accused including Surendran.

Kasaragod District Sessions Court accepted the argument that the case was not maintainable. All the accused, including Surendran, were in the court on Saturday.

K Surendran:

“I have told you before that this was a fabricated case. This is a case filed by LDF candidate V V Ramesh and not Sundara K as propagated by the media. Sundara later became part of the case. Such a case was made with the intent to disqualify me from elections forever and to tarnish the BJP in public. Leaders of CPM, Congress and League are involved in this conspiracy.

Sundara was taken to some rural suburb in Karnataka as part of the conspiracy. It is also a shame that some journalists abetted in the conspiracy. Kerala police have registered many cases against me and it is nothing new. But don't keep hope that you can destroy us through such petty tactics.”

In the last assembly election, K Sundara, who was a BSP candidate from Manjeswaram constituency, was allegedly kidnapped in a bid to withdraw the nomination papers. It was said that he was given two and a half lakh rupees and a mobile phone as a bribe to withdraw the petition.
