'Bought new Thar just last month'; Pall of gloom descends on 'Prince Villa'

KOLLAM: The family was buzzing about Onam, wishing others on the festival and planning their itinerary for the few holidays ahead. On the way back home from the airport, Prince, Bindya, and their children were cheering over their plans when tragedy struck them out of nowhere. Their home, ‘Prince Villa’, turned into a sea of people who came to join in the grief of the bereaved family.

The locality of Padinjattinkara is still in disbelief, unable to fathom that Prince and his two children are no more. The exuberance of Onam in the hamlet of Padinjattinkara soon morphed to gloom with the tragic death news of Kairali Finance owner Prince and his two children.

Prince and his children, Atul and Alka, died in a fatal road accident in the early hours of Thursday. They were just moments away from returning home when the KSRTC bus rammed into them, pushing their family to eternal grief.

The family was travelling in the Thar jeep that Prince, a car enthusiast, had bought the previous month. Since Prince's brother was in Canada, his father Thomas and mother Mariyamma lived in the family home, just two hundred meters away from Prince’s home. Prince's children, Aishwarya, Alka and Atul were regular visitors here. Prince wanted to send his daughter Aishwarya to pursue MBBS. Locals and neighbours are helpless and don’t know how to console the grieving family members.

Prince’s wife Bindya, and daughter, Aishwarya, miraculously escaped with injuries and are still undergoing treatment at the hospital. They have not yet been informed of the death news.
