THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sasthamangalam Councillor R Sreelekha is in no mood to quickly pull the curtains down on the office room controversy involving MLA V K Prasanth. In a Facebook post, Sreelekha mentioned that she has started work at another small office in the neighbourhood.

The photos shared on the social media page show Sreelekha starting her work by auspiciously lighting a lamp in front of Bharatamba's portrait. Sreelekha said the 75-square-ft space with garbage all around would not fit the title of an office space, but the former state DGP said she would concentrate more on her work irrespective of the comfort.

Sreelekha had earlier demanded that VK Prasanth vacate his office in the corporation building in Sasthamangalam. The former DGP’s phone call to the MLA had triggered a controversy.

Sreelekha’s Facebook post:

Service started today.

It can't be called a room... a small place. A sincere public servant can work here too...

18 people came here till noon today. I am satisfied that I was able to help them. That is enough. My little office room. Barely 70-75 sq ft. But there is tons of waste around!
