ALAPPUZHA: The love a drama actor felt for his fellow passenger who gave him a seat on the train has reached the wedding scene at the drama stage of the CPI state conference. Prashanth Thrikkalathur (40) from Muvattupuzha and Chinju (33) from Kollam met a year and a half ago. A passionate love blossomed that day. Prashanth is a professional drama actor. Chinju, a native of Kollam, is a nurse.
A year and a half ago, Prashanth had boarded a train from Ernakulam to attend a friend's wedding in Thiruvananthapuram. Chinju offered him a seat. The two got to know each other during the journey. As the train neared Kollam, Prashanth asked Chinju: You gave me a seat in the train today, will you give me one in your life too? Although Chinju was worried for a moment, she quickly agreed. Then the communication was through social media.
A week ago, the couple decided to get married at the drama stage as part of the CPI state conference. Chinju arrived at the drama stage on Alappuzha beach on Tuesday as a bride. The wedding took place after Prashanth performed the play "Shelter" in which he played the central character "Thevan". CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam gave Prashanth the bride's hand in marriage. Both of them exchanged red rose garlands.
Prashanth will be tying the knot with Chinju today at the Pallimattom Bhagavathy temple, Prashanth's family temple. Prashanth is the son of Sasidharan and Sarojani of Muvattupuzha Puthumanakkad.
