THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A low-pressure area is likely to form again in the Bay of Bengal. A cyclone located over North Andaman and Myanmar is likely to move into the North Bay of Bengal by the next day. A new low-pressure area is likely to reach the East-Northeast Bay of Bengal near the Myanmar-Bangladesh coast on September 25. In this context, the Indian Meteorological Department informed of the possibility of light to moderate rain in Kerala for the next five days.
The National Centre for Oceanographic Studies and Research (INCOIS) said that there is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki districts in the next three hours. The indian Meteorological Department informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Wayanad and Kasaragod districts.
As part of the Kallakadal phenomenon, there is a possibility of sea erosion due to waves up to 0.9 to 1.0 meters high along the Kerala coast from 8.30 pm the next day to 02.30 pm on Wednesday, and along the coasts from Neerodi to Arockiapuram in Kanyakumari district from 05.30 pm the next day to 11.30 am on Wednesday. Fishermen and coastal residents should follow the warnings.
