Thrissur Pooram disruption: Minister K Rajan gives statement against ADGP M R Ajijth Kumar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister K Rajan has given a statement to the special investigation team against ADGP M R Ajith Kumar in the incident of disrupting last year's Thrissur Pooram. The minister’s statement is that Ajith Kumar did not pick up the phone when he called several times at the time the Pooram was disrupted. The minister also said that Ajith Kumar did not respond even after trying to contact him on his official and personal numbers. The minister also told the investigation team that Ajith Kumar did not intervene to resolve the issue even after he was informed later that the Pooram was not being conducted smoothly.

The investigation team will record Ajith Kumar's explanation in this regard. The new allegation was raised when Ajith Kumar has only months to retire. The DGP will submit the final report in the incident of disrupting Thrissur Pooram by this month.

Meantime, the people are eagerly waiting for this year's Thrissur Pooram. Thrissur Pooram is on May 6 this year. The chamaya pradarshanam related to Thrissur Pooram will begin today. The arrangements for the Pooram have been intensified. As part of this, representatives of the Thiruvambady Devaswom Board met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Devaswom president Sundar Menon informed that all arrangements for the Pooram have been completed. The devaswom president said that there were some incidents last time and the government has promised to help in conducting the Pooram smoothly this time. He clarified that there are no concerns in connection for the functioning of the Pooram.
