VADAKARA: Vadakara MP Shafi Parambil faced the media for the first time since the egregious controversy surrounding his best pal, Rahul Mamkootathil.
SHAFI PARAMBIL:
“Rahul showed moral scruple to resign from the post after the allegation popped up. Still, many are eager to teach Congress lessons about political ethos. Rahul is facing just allegations, but not any FIR or legal complaint. The propaganda that I ran away after the controversy erupted is false. I don’t need to do that. Efforts are ongoing to silence Congress over the issue. It will not bear fruit. What quality or right does CPM or BJP have to ask for Rahul's resignation?
It is outrageous for CPM state secretary M V Govindan to give lessons to Congress on morality.
Despite a police case and a chargesheet, a CPM MLA is continuing in office and is part of the government. BJP is the party that made the accused in the POCSO case a member of the Parliament Board. What moral right does BJP have to demand the resignation of an MLA here?"
