Electrocuted by wild boar trap; tragic death for class 10 student in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: A student died after being electrocuted by an electric wire installed to trap a wild boar. The incident took place at Vellakkatta, Malappuram. The deceased is a Class 10 student named Ananthu Vijay. Four students were injured. The condition of one of them is said to be critical. The body of the deceased Jithu has been shifted to the Nilambur District Hospital mortuary. An injured child is also undergoing treatment at the same hospital. The seriously injured child was taken to a private hospital for treatment.

Locals say that wildlife nuisance is rampant in the area. The students were returning after going to a nearby ground to play football. The accident occurred during this time. Locals say they were electrocuted by an electric wire on the road. Four of the five students were electrocuted.
